Brian specialises in trade mark law and has extensive experience in the application, prosecution and registration of trade mark rights. He also acts in contentious trade mark matters such as removal actions, oppositions and infringement proceedings. Brian provides clients with comprehensive advice concerning the development and protection of trade mark portfolios, and has experience in negotiating and drafting intellectual property licenses and other commercial agreements. In addition, Brian advises clients on other areas which are related to trade marks, such as the acquisition and protection of domain names, including matters to do with cyber-squatting disputes. He is co-author of the textbooks entitled Trademark Law in Australia (2000) and Annotated Trade Marks Act 1995 (2nd Edition, 2010).
